The G15 has welcomed the publication of the Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities Select Committee Report on the regulation of social housing.

G15 submitted evidence to the inquiry and also facilitated a submission from a group of G15 members' residents.

Commenting on the report, Geeta Nanda OBE, G15 Chair and Chief Executive of MTVH, said:

"Every resident has the right to live in a well-maintained home, be listened to and respected.

"We welcome the findings and recommendations of the Select Committee report and the focus that it has and we share on putting residents' voices at the heart of everything we do.

"Whilst the report finds that most social housing is of a decent standard, it is clear that there is much more to do for landlords, the Regulator, and government to improve the quality of residents’ experiences.

"We hope to see the Social Housing Regulation Bill continue to progress in the coming months. This legislation will underpin much of the change that social housing providers are already making to improve residents’ homes and services.

"We look forward to continuing to work with the Committee, the government, residents, and other partners to bring in this much-needed legislation and to ensure it delivers the change we need to see."
