The G15 Residents’ Group (G15RG) consists of two resident members from each G15 organisation. They have first-hand experience of social and affordable housing and understand the challenges and opportunities that matter most to residents and communities.
Working in partnership with G15 leaders and engaging with policymakers, regulators, and sector partners, the group advocates for resident-led change in the social housing sector.
Through their insight and expertise, the G15RG plays a key role in shaping the future of social housing and communities across London.

Stigma and Discrimination
Stigma and discrimination remain a key focus for the Residents’ Group. Their research has highlighted the extent to which social housing residents continue to face unfair perceptions and barriers in everyday life.
Their report, ‘Taking the Stigma out of Social Housing: The Residents’ View’ is available to read below.

Strengthening Strategic Resident Involvement: The Social Housing Innovation Fund
The G15 Residents’ Group (G15RG) has secured funding through the Government’s Social Housing Innovation Fund to explore how residents can play a greater role in shaping housing policy and decision-making at both a local and national level.
The project will examine how the G15RG currently operates, identify opportunities to strengthen strategic resident involvement, and explore how the model could be adapted by other organisations seeking to build resident voice across multiple landlords.
A research partner will be appointed to undertake the work, which is expected to run until March 2027. The project will produce a publicly available report and a practical toolkit to help resident groups and housing organisations develop effective approaches to strategic resident engagement.
The project builds on the work of the G15RG, which brings together residents from London’s largest housing associations to influence housing policy and champion high-quality social housing.
Updates, resources and project outputs will be published on this page as the work progresses – stay tuned!
