The G15 Residents’ Group has responded to the Government’s consultation on ending leasehold for new flats, welcoming the move towards a commonhold system as a step towards greater fairness and transparency.
The Group stresses that reform must also address ongoing issues for existing leaseholders, including rising service charges, insurance costs and limited accountability, and calls for a well-managed, properly resourced transition alongside stronger protections and meaningful resident involvement.
