Data source information

The data used in the map has been obtained from G15 Members and the following sources:

  • Average social rent – Regulator of Social Housing, Statistical Data Return 2024 to 2025, Table 2.6, Average general needs social rent net rent by Local Authority area (as at 31 March 2025).
  • Average private rent – Office for National Statistics, Private rent and house prices, UK: January 2025 (Price Index of Private Rents).
  • Social housing waitlist – Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Local Authority Housing Statistics: Live Table 600, Number of households on local authority housing registers (waiting lists), by district, England.
